Does the recipient need to be an Amazon customer?
Yes. The recipient needs to be an Amazon.com.mx customer. When you buy an Amazon.com.mx Gift Card, you will be asked to provide the mobile number or email address that is associated the recipient’s Amazon.com.mx account. If the phone number or email address that you enter is not associated with an Amazon.com.mx account, you will be unable to complete the transaction.
How will the recipient know that they have received an Amazon.com.mx Gift Card?
Once you complete a transaction, Amazon will notify your recipient via the mobile number or email address that you provided, that funds have been added to their Amazon.com.mx Gift Card balance.
How long does it take an Amazon.com.mx Gift Card to be available in the recipient’s Amazon.com.mx balance?
In most cases, the Amazon.com.mx Gift Card will be automatically added to the recipient’s Amazon.com.mx Gift Card balance and should be available to use within five minutes. In some cases, it may take up to four hours for the recipient to receive the Gift Card.
Are there any fees charged for these transactions?*
Amazon does not charge a separate transaction fee for this feature. The exchange rate displayed on the transaction page and used for all currency exchange for this feature includes all Amazon fees related to the use of this feature. The recipient will receive the Mexican Peso amount shown on the transaction page into their Amazon.com.mx Gift Card balance, and will not pay additional fees out of the funds they receive.
How does currency exchange work for this feature?**
The exchange rate may not match the rates published online or in other financial databases, as those rates generally are not available to retail customers. The exchange rate displayed on the transaction page and used for all currency exchange for this feature includes all Amazon fees related to the use of this feature. The sender will pay the US Dollar amount shown on the transaction page. The recipient will receive the Mexican Peso amount shown on the transaction page into their Amazon.com.mx Gift Card balance, and will not pay additional fees out of the funds they receive.
Are there any transactional limits applicable to this feature?
Yes. The minimum amount of funds that you can purchase with each transaction is 5.00 US Dollars and the maximum amount is the US Dollar equivalent of 5,000 Mexican Pesos based on this feature’s exchange rate of the day (today the maximum amount per transaction is 251.16 US Dollars). The maximum total amount that you can add to one or more recipients’ Amazon.com.mx Gift Card balance per day is 500.00 US Dollars. Transactions also contribute to your limit of 10,000.00 US Dollars of gift cards that you can purchase per day on Amazon.com. Additionally, recipients can receive a maximum of 10,000.00 Mexican Pesos per day from one or multiple senders.
Can I or my recipient get a refund for these transactions or redeem for cash?
No. Amazon.com.mx Gift Cards are not refundable or redeemable for cash, except as required by law.
